David Beckham will today find out if he is to remain at AC Milan permanently or go back to LA Galaxy in March.
Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has set a deadline for today for the two clubs to come to an agreement. Milan made a £5 million bid last week but Galaxy rejected it. Reports suggest they are set to improve their bid to £10 million.
Coach Carlos Ancelotti says they should "make sacrifices to keep Beckham".
Ancelotti added: "We must keep him because he is an important player for the team."
The loan deal to Milan is due to finish on March 8th and Garber, who must approve any deal, does not want to wait with the start of the US season coming up.
"There's no reason why this should drag on," said Garber. "They either want to do it or don't want to do it."
Beckham has expressed his wish to stay in Milan but Galaxy boss Bruce Arena believes he will honour his contract at the club if a deal is not made.
