Diego Forlan Would Return to English Football

Diego Forlan has revealed that he would be happy to return to English football.

The thirty one year old joined Manchester United in 2002 but didn't set the Premier League alight during his two year spell at the club.

After leaving in 2004 he joined Villarreal before moving onto his current club Athletico Madrid, his goal sinking Liverpool in the Europa Cup semi-final last season.

But it was this summer's World Cup where he made everyone sit up and take not as his performance for Uruguay made him one of the most talked about and wanted strikers.

And while Forlan still has three years left of his contract at Athletico Madrid he has not ruled out a return to England.

Speaking to The Sun Forlan said: "If I have the chance to go, I will go. I'm not attached to any team because I left my home to come to Europe.

"You look at the best offer you have. If you have a chance and it is good for the team and good for you, I don't see it as bad, I see it is good and I will move.

"The time I had in England was great and I enjoyed it. If I had the chance to go back I would be really happy."
