GEORGE BEST BACK IN INTENSIVE CARE
Soccer legend GEORGE BEST is back in intensive care in hospital in London suffering a "new and severe infection", just weeks after surviving a near death scare.
The 59-year-old former Manchester United and Northern Ireland star is on dialysis and the infection is being treated with antibiotics.
Best's doctor PROFESSOR ROGER WILLIAMS says, "It is a big setback after some steady progress over the last two weeks.
"He was improving every day until yesterday afternoon and he was really pretty good. He is conscious and just about talking.
"He's on dialysis and he is very poorly at the moment."
Best underwent a liver transplant in 2002 after years of alcoholism. Last month (OCT05) he was readmitted to the Cromwell hospital in London with a chest infection and internal bleeding.
