Harry Redknapp has revealed that Jermaine Defoe has put his injury worries behind him and could play this weekend against Arsenal.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been out of action since September when he suffered ligament damage in his ankle during an England match.
He was expected to be out of action for at least three months - undergoing surgery to repair the damage, but he has recovered quicker than expected.
Redknapp confirmed that he had returned to full training earlier this week and could feature in the derby this weekend.
Speaking to Sky Sports the Tottenham manager said: "It's great to have him back. The other lads have done well in his absence and we scored four goals last week against Blackburn.
"But it's great to have the little fella back. He's a fantastic goalscorer and he's different to anybody else.
"He certainly would've had six or seven goals by this stage of the season."
Tottenham are currently seventh in the Premier League, on nineteen points alongside Sunderland and Bolton.
