Harry Redknapp has been thanked by Rafael van der Vaart for bringing the best of him since he joined Tottenham Hotspur.

Van der Vaart joined the London club in the summer and has so far had a great start to the season finding the back of the net five times during his nine starts.

And the Dutchman believes that it's Redknapp's managing style that has brought out the best of him in such a short space of time.

Speaking to The Sun the midfielder said: "Harry is a very special man, that's why I already feel at home at Spurs. It feels like I'm back on the street.

"There are no long and boring speeches about tactics, like I was used to at Real Madrid. There's a clipboard in our dressing room but Harry doesn't write anything on it.

"It's not that we do nothing - but it's close to that. For instance, last weekend Gareth Bale scored a header against Blackburn from my corner.

"But we didn't train one minute on it, it was pure luck. Good kicking, good heading, nothing more.

"And our win at home over Champions League winners Inter Milan was a clear example of playing on intuition. You can't train the goal I scored in that game."

Tottenham Hotspur currently lie seventh in the Premier League on nineteen points and enjoyed a great win at White Hart Lane over current Champions League holders Inter Milan.

This weekend is the all London derby as Tottenham face Arsenal at the Emirates.
