Harry Redknapp Expects Modric Contract Talks

Harry Redknapp says he is expecting Luka Modric to hash out a new contract with the club's chairman.

The Croat had been linked with a move to Chelsea during the transfer window - with Tottenham rejected bids for the player.

And now the window has closed and all talk of a move away from White Hart Lane have died down Redknapp is hopeful that a new deal can be reached between player and club.

Speaking to Sky Sports the Tottenham boss said: "Luka will just get on with it - the chairman will sit down and discuss his contract and make a deal.

"We are looking to make him a good offer. The transfer window being shut now makes my job easier because he has to just get on with playing."

With international duty finished Tottenham were back in action at the weekend as they enjoyed a 2-0 win over Wolves.

It is the first win of the new season for the London club and they are down in fourteenth place after three games.
