Javier Hernandez has been lavished with praise by Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson after Mexican scored in the dying minutes of the Carling Club match with Wolves to snatch a victory.

Wolves twice came back from behind in a half empty Old Trafford last night and it looked like it was heading for a 2-2 draw as the final whistle loomed.

But as the clock ticked down Hernandez, who was brought on as a substitute, struck to edge Manchester United ahead as he left two Wolves defenders behind before lifting the ball over keeper Hennessey.

Speaking to Sky Sports Ferguson said: "We tend to build up heroes very quickly here but the boy is justifying his praise at the moment.

"He's such a great professional, he's first in, last out the training ground every day and his goal scoring is getting a lot of credit and praise and quite rightly.

"When he came on you just knew that if he gets a chance he's going to take it.

"His touch and control of the ball is improving, his vision is improving and that's because the training is intense and we care about our training and make sure our players do improve."

There may have only been forty six thousand in Old Trafford last night but the fans were treated to a pulsating second half as all five goals came in the second forty five minutes.

It was Bebe who was first on the scoresheet for United in the fifty sixth minute - after chances for Macheda and park were not capitalised upon.

But United's lead lasted just four minutes before Elokobi netted from a corner, the first goal Wolves had scored at Old Trafford since February 1980.

Park Ji-Sung put United ahead once again in the seventieth minute but Wolves dug deep and six minutes later when Foley beat Ben Amos.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake almost put the visitors ahead just minutes later but he put the ball wide. And as the match looked like it was heading for a draw up popped 'little pea' to once again be United's hero.
