Joe Cole Wants To Make England Return

Joe Cole has revealed that he aims to win his place back in the England side.

In the summer transfer window Cole, who arrived at Anfield last summer on a free move from Chelsea, was on the move again to French giants Lille.

Cole has struggled to find his place in the Liverpool squad under new boss Kenny Dalglish but it now looking to find his best form for his new club

Speaking to BBC Sport Cole said: "I've won everything in England and had a successful career.

"In 10 games I'll be back playing my best football and I see no reason why I won't get back in the [England] team."

Lille wasn't the only club that was interested in Cole as Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur were all keen to sign the player.

But Cole admits that he has always been keen to try playing abroad. "This offer excited me.

"It looks a great club. They did the [French league and cup] double last season and I wanted this experience to test myself in the French league.

"Ever since I was a young lad, I wanted the opportunity to play abroad."
