Kenny Dalglish Backs Carroll

Kenny Dalglish has come to the defence of his striker Andy Carroll.

Since making the £35million move from Newcastle to Liverpool in January this year he has been hampered with injury.

And Dalglish reveals that he doesn't agree with the fitness comments that were made by Fabio Capello earlier this week.

And while he admits that the injury has set Carroll back Dalglish is happy with the progress and performances from his striker.

Speaking to Sky Sports he said: "As we've said before Andy was not properly fit last season because of a knee injury.

"But we have been pleased with his level of fitness this season because he has lost that injury.I think Andy is very appreciative of advice from anyone who has a good standing in football.

"I think he appreciates Capello's advice because he has great respect for Fabio and Fabio has great respect for Andy."
