Has Gabriel Obertan signed for Manchester United?

Manchester United are reported to have signed Bordeaux midfielder/winger Gabriel Obertan.

Rumours started a few days ago when Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud was quoted as saying he believes there was a "great possibility" Manchester United will sign Gabriel Obertan

The 20-year-old, widely regarded as one of France's top prospects, is said to have undergone a medical at Manchester United's Carrington complex yesterday.

Obertan will tie up an £8million transfer when he signs a four-year contract today.

Obertan, who can play in a central midfield role or up front, was said to want to return home to Bordeaux after his medical check-up.

But United chiefs told him he needs to start training with his new team-mates from as early as Tuesday.

Obertan has been monitored by Chelsea, Arsenal and Inter Milan throughout last season.
