Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is undecided on wether or not to play midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo in tonight's Champions League game at Villarreal.

Ronaldo limped off the pitch in Saturday's goalless draw at Aston Villa but returned to training on Monday.

The winger has pleaded with Ferguson to let him play but the manager is not so sure.

"It's a problem. I would rather leave him out," Ferguson told the BBC.

Darren Fletcher returns from a knee injury but Dimitar Berbatov and Gary Neville are out, while Tomasz Kuszczak replaces the rested Edwin van der Sar.

Ferguson said: "We are giving another goalkeeper an opportunity and experience. There is no better experience than a European tie away from home."

United need just a point in Spain to reach the knockout stages of the competition.
