Michael Owen believes David Beckham can carry on

The England striker Michael Owen insists Beckham is good enough to add to his 100 England caps.

David Beckham was replaced in the 63rd minute in Wednesday's 1-0 defeat by France.

The Newcastle player earned his 88th cap on Wednesday as he made his first appearance under Fabio Capello, having been left on the bench against Switzerland. Owen believes England can take some positives from the defeat against France and believes he is returning to full sharpness as he puts together a sequence of matches at club level after injury troubles.
