Michael Owen Says He Still Has A Lot To Offer United

Michael Owen believes that there are still a few good years in him yet.

The thirty one year old has been plagued by injury since he joined Manchester United but he found the back of the net twice last night to help give United a 3-0 win over Leeds.

United were playing at Elland Road in the third round of the Carling Cup - where Owen made his first start of the new season.

He struck fifteenth and thirty second minute to help United go into the dressing room at half time with a 3-0 lead, the third goal coming from Ryan Giggs.

Speaking to The Sun Owen said: "My first goal was a pure mis-hit but, I have to say, that second one was every bit as sweet as I can hit them.

"It's always nice for me to score because it's what I have been all about over the years.

"These days, though, I am also trying to help and encourage the young players here and be an example to them.

"But, at 31, I still believe there are a few good years left in me yet."
