Rafael Benitez Eyes European Double

Rafael Benitez believes that winning the Europa Cup and securing fourth spot in the premier league is still an achievable goal for his Liverpool side.

And Liverpool moved one step closer to getting their hand on the Europa Cup last night as they put four goals past Benfica in the second leg of their quarter final at Anfield.

Despite going into the match 2-1 down they finished the tie 5-3 up and now face Atletico Madrid in the semi final.

In the domestic league Liverpool currently lie sixth, four points off fourth place with five games left to play this season.

And despite their up and down form this season Benitez believes that they can still finish the season on a high and was full of praise for his squad after their performance.

Speaking after Liverpool's victory last night he said: "We have two targets now and we will try to do both. We will try to win every game, starting by trying to beat Fulham on Sunday."

It was a good game and because the other team was very good you can say four goals was a fantastic performance, but I think we have played better this season," he said.

"Any win is important, especially at this stage of a competition. If we can get to the final and win the final we will be very pleased.

"Hopefully we can play well, score goals, get closer to the top four and get to the final."

This weekend Liverpool face fellow Europa semi finalists Fulham.
