Rio Ferdinand Backs Young England Talent

Rio Ferdinand believes that the young talent can shine for England.

The England skipper has supported Fabio Capello's decision to brings Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Kieran Gibbs into the side for England's friendly match against France.

There will be no Wayne Rooney, John Terry and Frank Lampard will all be missing due to injury problems and the England squad has brought fresh faces into the side.

And while Ferdinand believes that the likes of Andy Carroll, who is currently Newcastle's goal scoring machine, could propel England forward he hopes that they all enjoy their debut.

Speaking to Sky Sports news Ferdinand said: "I think it is fantastic. There is nothing better than seeing a young lad get his first cap and go out there and lap it all up.

"I remember my debut, and it is one of the proudest moments of your life. I hope they go out there and enjoy it and put in a performance.

"We have got a lot of young players who are hungry and want to come in and do well. We have full confidence in them. They are not fazed these young lads.

"The best thing about it is that they know each from coming through the youth ranks and U21s. They are loving it. That is what it is about."
