Rio Ferdinand has not made the trip to Portugal for Manchester United's Champions League clash with Benfica tomorrow.
The United skipper has been suffering with a hamstring injury over the last month and missed games against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
However he was back on the pitch at the weekend during United's 5-0 win over Bolton at the Reebok Stadium.
It's not believed that he has suffered a new injury and appears to possibly being rested ahead of United's clash with Chelsea on Sunday.
United have been in fine form in recent weeks having scored sixteen goals in their last three matches.
Ferdinand may be out but Jonny Evans and Patrice Evra have made the trip to Portugal appearing to have recovered from hip and knee issues that they picked up against Bolton.
