Roberto Mancini Believes City Still Need To Improve

Roberto Mancini believes that it will not be until next season that Manchester City will really be able to challenge rivals Manchester United.

After wins in the Fa Cup at the weekend for both side they will face on another in the semi-final at Wembley in April.

Manchester United saw off Arsenal 2-0 while City enjoyed a 1-0 win over Championship side Reading.

And while Mancini admits that he is looking forward to the semi-final clash he is looking to next season to really be rivaling United.

Speaking to Sky Sports Mancini said: "It is a great semi-final. You could see what it meant to the fans at the end.

"We are very close with all the top squads but we need to improve more and maybe next year we will be at the same level.

"But it is important that we played a good game at Old Trafford last time and we have a chance to win, like them."

Manchester City currently lie third in the Premiere League - behind United and Arsenal - but on fifty three points they are seven points off the pace.

They are set to face Chelsea and Sunderland over the coming weeks.
