Roy Hodgson has voiced his support for the takeover of Liverpool.
The club is close to a deal with New England Sports Ventures, owners of the Boston Red Sox, and Hodgson is keen to see stability return to the club.
Speaking to the official website the Liverpool boss said: "It's very positive and of course I'm delighted.
"It's been going on a long time and I know how hard the board have worked to set things up. I know it's not easy for them because the owners have other ideas in terms of the sale of the club and what is achievable.
"But I was delighted to hear the news and have it confirmed that it looks like it is going to go through."
However everything may not be that straight forward as Tom Hicks is rumoured to be fighting the £300 million sale of the club in the high court.
Tom Hick and George Gillette, who took over the club in 2007, could stand to lose £144 million if the deal was to go ahead.
And while there has been troubles off the pitch at Anfield the side have been struggling on the pitch as Liverpool currently languish in the bottom three of the Premier League.
The side has picked up just six points from the opening seven games, losing 2-1 at home to Blackpool at the weekend, having also crashed out of the Carling Cup.
