Burnley boss Sean Dyche says Ashley Barnes is closing in on a return to action, but the game against Leicester will come too soon.
The striker has been on the sidelines since picking up a hamstring injury against Bradford in pre-season, and although he is back in training, he is not ready to return just yet.
Barnes should be pushing for a place in the squad sooner rather than later, but Dyche admits the injury is a frustrating one.
“Barnsey's still got a niggling injury,” said Dyche. “It's the final stages but just getting rid of the final moment of pain. He's out of the grass doing some work, he just can't clear it up, it's getting closer, we hope.”
Dyche does have more option for the trip to the King Power Stadium, following the arrival of Partick Bamford, who is hoping for a starting place after his goal for the under-23s in midweek.
