Hull City have revealed they hope to have skipper Michael Dawson back available after the next international break.
The Tigers were hit by a massive blow when Dawson suffered a knee ligament damage during pre-season that was expected to rule him out for at least three months.
However the defender has made a quicker than expected recovery and it is hoped he will be back in caretaker boss Mike Phelan's squad within the next few weeks.
The Tigers have made a fine start to life back in the Premier League, and news of Dawson's imminent return will come as another boost to Phelan.
"Realistically, we are looking at after the next international break for Michael being ready to be part of the squad," head of medical services Rob Price said. "As always with a medical ligament injury, the last thing that comes back is the ability to hit a side foot pass and hit a long ball.
"We expect that to come back in the next two or three weeks."
