Dyche looks to cure away-day blues

Sean Dyche says Burnley have to learn how to pick up points away from home if they are to have a chance of staying in the league.

The Clarets have earned seven points since returning to the Premier League, but they have all come at Turf Moor, which is becoming something of a fortress.

Burnley's home form will be crucial this season, but Dyche is also well aware they need to pick up points on their travels after losing all three so far.

The 3-1 loss at Southampton was particularly alarming, and Dyche says it has to improve.

"We’re still trying to develop a group, and they’re developing through the knocks as well," Dyche revealed. "At home we’ve looked a much stronger unit in terms of how we’ve gone about it, away from home we’re still searching for that real freedom to go on and take on the challenge.

"We’re still a bit edgy and sort of unsure of ourselves. At home I think there is a nice security about what we’re doing, so that’s got to come and it’s got to come quickly.

"We’re already eight games into the Premier League season and we’re going to need points away from home as well as at home, so it’s important that the team grows to understand that."
