Leicester City scouted the Europa League match between Mainz and St Etienne on Thursday as they continue to try to improve the squad.
The Foxes were one of four Premier League clubs represented at the match, which finished 1-1, alongside scouts from Chelsea, Everton and Sunderland.
It is not known who they were watching but Chelsea could have been keeping an eye on Japanese striker Yoshinori Muto, who turned down a move to Stamford Bridge in 2015.
Muto, 24, scored in his only Bundesliga outing of the season so far against Borussia Dortmund in August after notching seven times in 18 league appearances last season.
Leicester are understood to have scouted him in the past but may have had other targets in mind, including the talented 20-year-old Mainz holding midfielder Jean-Phillipe Gbamin.
He joined Mainz in a £4million deal from Lens in the summer and was making his first start for the German outfit on Thursday.
