Mee focused on positives

Burnley defender Ben Mee is trying to focus on the positives following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester.

The Clarets approached the game with a new shape as boss Sean Dyche brought Jeff Hendrick and Scott Arfield into his side in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Burnley looked strong in the opening 45 minutes and were able to keep the Premier League champions at bay.

However, Leicester broke the deadlock in added-on time at the end of the first half before doubling their tally three minutes into the second period.

Mee put into his own net on 78 minutes to ensure there was no way back and the defender feels, despite the loss, there is reason to be happy with their new shape.

“It was disappointing,” said Mee. “We were in the game first half, then the game changes in five minutes. It’s disappointing to lose a game like that and we never got back into it after the second goal went in.

“We worked on the shape during the week, it was something the gaffer thought might help us out and for the most part in the first half it seemed to work pretty well.

“We were knocking it about well, it was just that five minutes in the game that was disappointing. We thought we did alright, we had a couple of chances as did they.

“We were in the game and we did ok.”
