Celtic captain Scott Brown insists he has no regrets about calling time on his international career with Scotland.
The 31-year-old was capped 50 times by Scotland but opted to call time on his international career ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Brown claimed that he made the tough decision in order to make sure he can perform consistently to a high level for the Bhoys.
The midfielder recently looked back to his best in the 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the Champions League and he insists he is already starting to see the benefit of resting during international breaks.
"Any regrets? No, I think it is helping me with my Celtic career and keeping me on track," Brown said.
"It's pushing me to new levels, given me more energy and that rest time which I have definitely been needing.
“The gaffer has given me three or four days off now just to recharge my batteries.
"We've got another hard month going ahead and another international break so it is coming at good times for me just now."
