Okazaki set to play despite pain

Shinji Okazaki has confirmed he has recovered from the ankle injury that he picked up on international duty with Japan last week.

The 30-year-old Leicester City striker was substituted after 75 minutes of Japan's 2-1 win over Iraq in Saitama on Thursday after suffering the problem.

But, although he admits he has been in pain, Okazaki has declared himself fit for the Blue Samurai's crucial World Cup qualifier against Australia in Melbourne on Tuesday.

"I've been preparing for it," said Okazaki.

"I could have gone (training) yesterday if I really needed to do, but I stopped myself because I wanted to go all out today."

Jeff Schlupp, however, will not see any action for Ghana against South Africa after pulling out of the friendly match.

The winger played the final 12 minutes of Ghana's 0-0 draw with Uganda on Friday.

Meanwhile, Foxes teammate Daniel Amartey is included by Black Stars coach Avram Grant.
