Mike Phelan has been offered the manager's job at Hull City after impressing during his spell in charge as caretaker boss.
The 53-year-old has been in caretaker charge of the Tigers since Steve Bruce decided to leave in July due to uncertainty at board level.
Phelan has excelled during his four league games at the helm and was named Premier League manager of the month for August following victories over Leicester and Swansea.
The former Manchester United assistant revealed the offer has landed on his table and he will now take some time to mull it over before continuing negotiations.
Phelan told BBC Radio Humberside: "It's a case now of sifting through the offer and getting down to what hopefully will be further discussions."
