Ranieri - Schmeichel will be OK for United

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri expects Kasper Schmeichel to be ready to play again at Manchester United next weekend.

The Danish international goalkeeper picked up a concussion in training on Friday and sat out Saturday's 3-0 win over Burnley with stand-in Ron-Robert Zieler looking solid between the posts.

The German international, a summer signing from Hannover, will keep his place for the visit of Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.

Ranieri said: "[Kasper Schmeichel] is good. Zieler make a very good match. I continue with him. I think [Schmeichel's] ready for the weekend."

The Foxes manager also commented on the prospects of Danny Simpson retaining his place after he returned from a week absence because of a hamstring strain on Saturday.

"[Danny Simpson ] is good." added Ranieri. "After the first match, he's good. Could play. Now I have to choose the first XI."
