Cristhian Stuani says he is enjoying life at Middlesbrough but admits that he could return to Espanyol in the future.
The Uruguayan striker has been a big hit on Teesside since his £2.5million move from Espanyol in 2015, scoring seven goals as Boro won promotion from the Championship to the Premier League in his first season at the club.
But the 29-year-old says the Barcelona-based club, where he spent three seasons, still have a place in his heart and in his thoughts.
"The door remains open. In addition, people show me their love on social media. Espanyol is my club, but now I'm enjoying the Premier League," he told Marca.
"I'm fulfilling the dream of playing in the Premier League and I enjoy it. Last year we got promotion and this season we started well.
"Our goal is to stay in the division. On a personal level, it is an excellent experience."
