Swindon defender Jamie Sendles-White ruled out for the season

Swindon defender Jamie Sendles-White is likely to miss the rest of the season after revealing he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

The 22-year-old Northern Ireland Under-21 international was stretchered off in the first half of Saturday's Sky Bet League One defeat at home to Bury.

He posted on Twitter: "Bad news from the scan. I've ruptured my ACL and also damaged other parts of my knee.

"There is no word possible to describe how I feel. The season is over for me now and it's going to be a long, long road to recovery. I will come back better and stronger."

Sendles-White, who began his career at QPR, has made 17 appearances for the Robins since arriving at the County Ground in February following his departure from Scottish side Hamilton.
