Tigers linked with midfielder swoop

West Brom have opted not to hand a contract to midfielder Momo Sissoko, which could open the door for Hull City to swoop.

The former Liverpool star is currently without a club and had been training with the Baggies in the hope of earning a deal at the Hawthorns, something that now looks unlikely.

It appears the 31-year-old former Valencia, Liverpool, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain star, Sissoko, is lacking in the required fitness to cut it in the top flight after being watched in a 90-minute run-out for the Under-23s.

Whether that will deter Tigers caretaker boss Mike Phelan, remains to be seen, but there are suggestions they could offer him a trial in order to take a closer look.

Hull snapped up Ryan Mason, James Weir and Markus Henriksen in the transfer window, but Phelan would still like to bolster his ranks with players who are out of contract, and Sissoko is an option.
