A deal has been agreed for Indianapolis to host the 2007 US Grand Prix after organisers thrashed out terms with F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.
The most recent contract for the Grand Prix to run at the Brickyard expired after this year's July Grand Prix.
Its future was jeopardised following the 2005 farce when tyre safety fears had the race run with just 6 out of 20 drivers competing.
The Indianapolis owners state that just because they have only agreed a 1 year deal it shouldn't be a message of any type that this event doesn't have a long-term future.
A track spokesman went on to say to Britains BBC that they are committed to keeping the US Grand Prix in Indianapolis for a long, long time.following its arrival in Indianapolis, home of the Indy 500 race, in 2000.
The 2007 US Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on 17 June.
