Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton believes team-mate Nico Rosberg deserved to win Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix.
The German emerged victorious at the Marina Bay Street Circuit to move to the top of the Drivers' Championship standings, eight points clear of Hamilton, who could only secure a third-place finish in the race.
Hamilton was magnanimous after the race, admitting that Rosberg deserved to claim the victory in Singapore, although he conceded that he never really managed to get going across the whole weekend.
"I feel like I did everything I could," Hamilton told Sky Sports F1. "A very trying weekend, these ones come along sometimes and you just have to take it on the chin sometimes."
The Brit's chances at Marina Bay were not helped by mechanical problems during Friday's practice sessions, and Mercedes' boss Toto Wolff conceded after the race that the 31-year-old had endured a frustrating weekend all round.
"He started on the back foot by not having enough laps," acknowledged Wolff after the race. "He couldn't really double check the set-up, he wasn't happy with the set-up, the car wasn't like it was. He got off the start well but when the brake temps kicked in it took him a while to manage them. It was just a bad weekend for him."
