Daniel Ricciardo believes this season has been the best he has known in terms of development for Red Bull.
The Australian claimed his first chequered flag of the campaign at the Malaysian Grand Prix last time out, while Max Verstappen’s win in Spain earlier in the term was their only other triumph.
Ricciardo’s best overall finish during a campaign with Red Bull came in 2014 when he sat second in the World Championship, while he slipped to fourth in 2015.
Mercedes have again been the dominant force in 2016 but Ricciardo feels his team have performed wonders to cut the gap.
Ricciardo, 27, said: "I think with myself and Max, the level that we're driving at, that we're maintaining, is for sure helping the team.
"It seems that everything we put on the car… maybe our feedback is helping as well, but all the updates seem to be going in the right direction.
"Probably since I've been with Red Bull it's the best year [in terms of development]. A lot of things we've used and brought on the car have worked."
