Alastair Cook has revealed that he is delighted at his return to form as he ran riot on the third day of the final Ashes test in Sydney.
Cook, who struggled all summer with the bat, was on sixty one when play resumed this morning and went on to reach 189 before being caught by Hussey.
England resumed on 167-3 and were chasing Australia's first innings total of 208, which they comfortably caught and surpassed as Ian Bell also made a ton.
Bell added 115 to England's tally as they made 488-7 at the close of play.
Cook is England's top run scorer this series as he notched up an impressive 766 - not bad for a many thought may not make the team.
And Cook admits that he is excited by his return to form and has been looking to take advantage of every opportunity.
Speaking to Sky Sports Cook said: "I spent a lot of last summer not scoring the runs.
"It is a pretty lonely spot to be in when you keep walking back in with not many on the board and you watch your team-mates score them.
"I think when you haven't got any for a while that when you do find a bit of form, you've got to make the most of it. As Goochie (Graham Gooch) says, you have never got enough."
England return to the crease tomorrow well and truly in the driving seat as they look for a series victory.
