Andrew Strauss Pleased With England Fight Back

Andrew Strauss believes that England’s fight back in the first Ashes test with Australia will give the side confidence and momentum.
England went into the second innings trailing the Aussies by 221 runs but Strauss, Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott stood firm at the crease to score 517 runs for just the loss of Strauss.
The England captain scored 110 before he was dismissed yesterday and it was left to Cook, who scored 235 not out, and Trott, on 135 not out, to hold the fort until England declared on 517.
And Strauss believes that this fight back will give his players nothing but confidence. Speaking to the BBC he said: "To come back in the match and draw it, we've got a belief we can go on and win the series from here.
"We'll have a spring in our step going to Adelaide - but we have to transfer that to the pitch."
And while England had plenty to cheer about Strauss admits that there are still things that the side need to work on going into the second test.
"There are some concerns for sure. I don't think we bowled as well as we could in their second innings. We know we can do better and we know we can improve."
"Everyone talks about how important the first Test is against Australia in Brisbane, so to get through that unscathed from the position we were in is a great effort.
The second test gets underway in Adelaide at the end of the week.
