Andrew Strauss Happy With Win

Andrew Strauss says that he is delighted at the way that England fought back in their match with ICC Combined XI.

It was a warm up match for Strauss and his mean ahead of their test series against Pakistan that begins next week.

However it was far from a vintage performance for the world number one side as only Alastair Cook & Strauss posted a bating score of note.

But England ran down the total of 261 posted by their opponents with Stuart Broad and Steve Davies steadying the ship toward the back end of the order to see then home.

But Strauss admits that he was happy with the way that England was able to battle back and snatch a win.

Speaking to Sky Sports Strauss said: "We're delighted with how we came through and won the game, having been nearly 100 behind after the first innings.

"I thought there were some good performances in our side - Anderson and Broad, backed up by Finn - and the ICC XI played really well.

"Our batting in the first innings should have been better. We have to get in the right mindset to occupy the crease for long periods.

"There is plenty left to work on - we are not going to pretend it was perfect by any means - but we can raise it a level against the PCB."

It was a tough warm up for Strauss and his men but they will face an even tougher test against Pakistan.
