Some of the UK’s hottest Olympic prospects have received an added edge to their London 2012 training regimes, attending a private mentoring session with two British athletic champions at the London Olympic site.

In this exclusive web video, seven of the UK’s most exciting young aspiring Olympians spent time meeting and learning from Olympic gold medallist Jonathan Edwards and Commonwealth champion Andy Turner.

They took a behind the scenes tour of where they hope to be competing in 2012 and also gained some invaluable insights into what it takes to become an Olympic champion.

These rising stars are among 300 talented athletes supported by Lloyds TSB this year as part of their Local Heroes programme - which in partnership with SportsAid, provides funding to help more British talent reach the top of their sports, as well as ongoing mentoring sessions and workshops with former British Olympians.

And while we may be looking to the next generation for the 2012 Olympic Andy Turner will be another athlete going for gold as he picked up gold over the 110m hurdles at European Championships and Commonwealth Games this season.
