Chris Hoy bagged his second of the World Cup in Melbourne as he stormed to victory in the kerin.

The thirty four year old had been looking good throughout the rounds as he had seen off Teun Mulder of Holland and France's Mickael Bourgain in the final.

The victory added to the gold that he had picked up the day before of the team sprint.

Victoria Pendleton was also back on the track for the women's sprint. She saw off GB team-mate and Guo Shuang to reach the final.

In that final she faced the might of Olympic silver medallist Anna Meares, who was roared on by a home crowd.

But the first two races were won by the Australian and a third and final dash was not needed and Pendleton had to settle for a second silver of the meet.

Pendleton teamed up with Jess Varnish yesterday for the team sprint and finished second behind China's Jinjie Gong and Shuang Guo.

A third British medal of the day came courtesy of Ed Clancy as he picked up a bronze in omnium behind Shane Archibold of New Zealand and Zachary Bell of Canada.

The meet, which provides much needed qualification points from London 2012, comes to a close tomorrow and will see GB going for gold once again as the men's team pursuit, men's sprint and women's keirn could all provide medal chances.
