Fresh from his dramatic keirin win at the World Track Cycling Championships in Melbourne, Sir Chris Hoy was in Manchester this week encouraging parents, teachers and children to get involved in National School Sport Week 2012.
Sir Chris was at a Manchester school encouraging participation in the week that runs from Monday 25th - Friday 29th June.
Sir Chris appeared alongside two Lloyds TSB Local Heroes Julia Whalley andTom Bosworth who gave Volleyball and Speed Walking master classes to the students.
To date more than 19,000 schools and almost 9 million pupils across the UK have taken part in the week since it started in 2008.
All parents, no matter how active, are being encouraged to take part in the week and can register their interest at www.schoolsportweek.org
