Dai Greene's European championship dreams remain on course as stormed into the final with absolutely no trouble whatsoever.
With a time of 49.49 seconds Greene cruised across the line and looked to be in fine form for the final. And it looks like it's going to be an all British showdown for the gold medal as Rhys Williams also qualified.
Williams clocked a time of 49.61 seconds to win his heat and set up a mouth watering clash with fellow Welshman Greene.
Mo Farah was back on the track last night as he goes for gold medal number two this time in the 5000 but he had to get through the qualifiers first.
And, once again, Farah was in imperious form as he won his heat in 13.38.27 while 10,000 metre silver medalist Chris Thompson came fourth in his heat to also reach the final.
Despite running in the 10,000m on Monday night both Farah and Thompson looked to have fully recovered and Thompson said after the race that he felt great.
Speaking to the BBC he said: "I enjoyed that a lot.
"I came into this believing in my fitness. The rain meant I could enjoy it more and relax. I'm in incredible condition, I need to recover but I'm happy. Job done."
Sprinting veterans Christian Malcolm and Marlon Devonish both made the final of the 200m but it was 100m champion Christopher Lemaitre who was the fastest qualifier.
Malcolm stopped the clock at 20.58, after running a great bend, while Devonish ran a time of 2-.55 seconds and they both could be in contention for a medal when the final is run later tonight.
And Michael Rimmer also made the final of the 800m as he won his semi final to be the quickest man into the final, which will take place on Friday.
But there was disappointment for Laura Turner as she failed to make the final for the 100m. The final was won by Verena Sailer in a time of 11.10 followed closely by Veronique Mang as she clocked a time of 11.11 seconds while Myriam Soumare was third in 11.18.
