Dwain Chambers Disqualified

Dwain Chambers’ world championships ended in disappointment as he was disqualified in the semi-finals.

Chambers found himself as the same semi final as Yohan Blake and knew he needed a good start if he was to finish in the top two to reach the final.

But a twitch in the block for the British number one and he was given his marching orders - having to watch Blake win the semi in 9.95 seconds.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the race Chamber said: "It hasn't really sunk in yet but I've got to keep my thoughts and frustrations to myself at the moment.

"Obviously the gun went and I moved. It's a bit unfortunate. The rules are the rules and I false-started.

"Today I was optimistic about my chances but I was up against guys on paper faster than me so I would have had to run beyond my best to qualify.''

Chambers was the second British athlete to get disqualified in as many days after Christine Ohuruogu false started in her 400m heat yesterday.
