There was success for England in the gymnastics stadium earlier today as Luke Folwell and Reiss Beckford secured a one-two in the men's individual all around competition.
Folwell was a bronze medalist four years ago in Melbourne and he moved into the lead with just two pieces of apparatus left, a lead that he never surrendered.
It was the vault that proved to be the piece of apparatus that won him the medal as he earnt a score of 16.200 that saw him take the lead.
But Beckford got really close to the gold medal and there was just 0.100 points between the pair at the end of the competition: Folwell finished with 85.550 points with Beckford just behind on 85.450.
Speaking to the BBC after the event Folwell said: "The difference between me and Reiss was the tiniest margin, perhaps just a little step on a dismount. I'm just delighted we came out with these medals.
It's been a great couple of days for England's gymnasts after both the men and the women secured silver, losing to Australia on both occasions, in the team event.
And there was more gold for England on day three of the Commonwealth Games as Steve Scott and Stevan Walton won the men's double trap pairs.
Despite huge support for home favourites Ronjan Sodhi and Asher Noria they had to settle for silver and the English pair scored 189 points to take the gold medal.
This gold added to Jamie Huckle's bronze medal, his second medal of the Games, in the air rifle individual event.
England's Myroslav Dykun won gold in the men's 66kg Greco Roman wrestling competition, beating Canadian Jack Bond who had to settle for silver.
This medal follows the silver medal that Terrence Bosson won in the 60kg competition yesterday. And there was also success for sixteen-year-old Zoe Smith who claimed a bronze for weightlifting.
