‘Great Britain’s top paralympic athletes will take on the world later this month at the IPC Athletics World Championships, held in Christchurch, New Zealand from 21-30 January 2011.

The event will showcase the biggest names in disability athletics, and is also the last major event at senior level prior to the Paralympic Games in London - therefore a significant opportunity for Britain’s best paralympic athletes to shine in the countdown to 2012.

The team of 40 athletes in the Aviva GB & NI Team includes a mixture of experienced and immerging talents; including Beijing double gold medallist David Weir and three times World Champion Stephen Miller.

Also putting on the Team GB vest is defending World Champion Bev Jones; and World Junior Champion Jade Jones - who has already proven her credentials at age group level, winning no less than five gold medals at last year’s World Junior Championships, and is now stepping up to compete in a senior event on the global stage for the first time.

The athletes, who leave for New Zealand this week, gave their thoughts looking ahead to the Championships at their pre-event training camp in Loughborough in this exclusive web video.’
