James Goddard brought home another gold for England from the pool as he reclaimed the 200m backstroke.
Goddard won the title eight years ago at the Manchester games but was unable to defend the title four years ago due to illness. But he put all that right today as it was gold again.
And the Englishman set a super fast pace from the off, a pace that he was able to maintain throughout the entire race, to clock a time of 55.58 second, two seconds faster than second place.
Speaking to the BBC after the match Goddard said: "I knew I had a one-minute-55 time in me, but I still think I can go quicker,"
"I've had a shoulder problem for the last year, it's been playing up for the last few days, and I'm so happy. I knew it was going to be quite a tight field. I'm so chuffed with the time."
There was also good news for the home nations in the 4x200m relay as Scotland took a silver medal, a second medal for Robbie Renwick in as many days.
It has been a great day for Australia in the pool and they claimed another gold in the relay. While Australia were good winners is was a tussle behind as Scotland, England, South Africa and Canada were all in the mix for medals.
South Africa took the bronze while England were down in fifth.
New Zealand's Gareth Kean was second while Ashley Delaney from Australia took bronze.
Kenya won their first ever gold in the pool as Jason Dunford denied Australia's Geoff Huegill gold in the 50m butterfly as he won in a time of 23.35 seconds.
And in the 100m breaststroke the gold medal went to South Africa's Cameron van Der Burgh, Scotland's Michael Jamieson missed out on the medals.
