Jessica Ennis showed that she is in great shape ahead of the Olympic Games in London this summer as she broke the British record at the Hypo Meeting in Götzis.
Ennis surrendered her World title in Daegu last year scored 6,906 points over the weekend to breaking the record set by Denise Lewis back in 2000.
Speaking to BBC Sport she said: "I knew I was capable of doing it. It was just a case of putting it together on the day.
"It's something that's been at the back of my mind and I wanted to achieve, but I didn't want to put too much pressure on it."
Ennis showed she was in good form earlier this month when she ran a blistering 110m hurdles at the City Games in Manchester.
And she produced another strong performance over the barriers at the weekend as well as a good shot putt and a personal best of 22.88 seconds in the 200m.
While she lead the competition, which included world champion Tatyana Chernova, by over two hundred points at the end of day one she had her toughest event ahead of her on day two.
The javelin may have ben her Achilles heel in the past looked better than ever as she threw a personal best of 47.11m.
She also equalled her personal best in the long jump as she leapt to a distance of 6.51 meters.
To surpass the record set by Denise Lewis she needed to run the final event of the 800m in a time less than 134 seconds.
She crossed the line in a time of two minutes and nine seconds to really set her up for a good performance in London.
London will be the first Olympic Games that Ennis has competed in as she was forced to missed the 2008 games in Beijing due to an injury.
However she will go into the event as the heavy favourite despite no longer holding her world title.
