Justin Gatlin returned to action yesterday as he won a 100, race in Estonia in 10.24 seconds.
The American has served a four years doping ban after he tested positive for testosterone back in 2006, after winning 100m Olympic gold in 2004 before winning the 100m and 200m gold a the world championships twelve months later.
But it was a confident competition from the American as he clocked a time of 10.34 second in the heat before improving that to 10.24 in the final.
He had just a 0.7 second ,lead over second place J-Mee Samuels while Rubin Williams completed the U.S. clean sweep as he came in third.
Speaking to The Guardian after the race he said: "I felt good, I felt alive," Gatlin said. "I'm a little disappointed in the time. I ran half the race just kind of cycling through it.
"But I think this a good comeback, to get my feet wet, and I hope going into the next races will be bigger and better.
"I came off the blocks and stumbled a little bit but I think I kept my composure towards the end of the race and I finished well. I got a lot of the butterflies out and I am ready to go and run and compete."
Gatlin is already looking forward to fight for a place on the Olympic squad for London 2012.
