Mark Selby was looking for just a single frame from the final session with Stephen Hendry to see off the seven time champion and reach the quarter finals.

It had been a dominant performance from Selby from the start of the clash with Hendry and he went into their final session leading 12-4.

Selby took the opening frame of the final session with a break of eighty one to set up a quarter final clash with Ding Junhui.

And the match against Hendry saw Selby go into the record books as he became the first man to make six century breaks in a twenty five frame match.

At the end of the first session Selby was leading comfortably 7-1 before taking the opening frame of the second session.

Despite it being one way traffic in that second session breaks of seventy five and seventy four saw Hendry take the match to that final session.

Speaking to the BBC after the match Selby said: "I played well from start to finish and put pressure on Stephen from the word go.

" I just went out to win the match, but the performance was exceptional as well, which is always nice."

He will now face Ding Junhui, who was forced to fight back from 9-12 down against Stuart Bingham, to win 13-12.
