Mo Farah

Just four days after his heroics in the 10,000m Farah was back on track for his second race looking to book himself into the final.

It was a slow run race where Farah kept himself out of trouble just hitting the front on occasion, much to the delight of the crowd.

While there were a handful or runners in contention at the bell Farah did enough to cross the line in third place and book his spot in the final.

Speaking to the BBC after the race Farah said: "The heat took a bit more out of me than I was expecting. But I'm really happy with where I am now and I've got a couple of days off.

"I kept getting caught as there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on. That's what happens in the heats. Hopefully, it will settle down in the final."

Mo Farah rounded off a golden evening for Team GB last weekend as he followed up the success of Jessica Ennis and Greg Rutherford to claim a third gold in the space of an hour.

Farah will now have until Saturday evening to recover and he is one of the favourites for the gold.
