The end of season dismissing of NFL coaches continues as Oakland announce they are to part company with head coach Art Shell

Oakland Raiders recorded their poorest season in over 40 years finishing the regular season with the worst record in the NFL (2-14).

This will be the fourth coach in four years for one of footballs most successful sides as they seek to return to the glory days.

The Cardinals released their head coach Dennis Green after they completed their second straight 5-11 season and again failed to progress into the play-offs.

The Falcons parted company with Jim Mora, 45, the day after they ended a 7-9 season with defeat at Philadelphia, Mora led the Falcons to the NFC Championship game two years ago but finished 26-22 over the last three seasons.

Meanwhile this weekend see's the first of the play-off games as the wild card qualifiers try to progress to the finals 'proper'
