London 2012 swimming medallists Rebecca Adlington and Michael Jamieson joined a host of elite swimming athletes in the capital for the start of a special tour to inspire thousands of children to get in the pool.
The British Swimming Heroes Tour presented by British Gas is taking members of the swimming, diving, synchro and water polo squads on a tour around the country to meet with children and help them to try each aquatic discipline.
Members of the disability Swimming team will join the tour after the Paralympics.
The tour is part of British Swimming’s ambition to get more children in the water as a legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It will visit five cities: London (17th August), Liverpool (18th August), Glasgow (22nd August), Swansea (13th September) and Coventry (17th September).
